On june 15th, Saint-Hyacinthe fire department organized a ladder-o-thon. Firefighter Sylvain Beauvais helped gather 6500$CDN by spending 30 hours in a ladder truck high above the ground. 5000$ have been given on July 14th to the family of little Mark-Anthony Gazaille to allow him to receive an expensive medical treatment.

Today, Saint-Hyacinthe's Fire Department was distributing the rest of the money to two local organizations that work for children. The service was represented by: M. Gilles Courtemanche (St-Hyacinthe FD director), M. Gilles Savoie (lieutenant), M. Jean-Guy Michaud (firefighter), Claude Dupont (firefighter). Were missing from the picture but were very involved in this fund raising campain: M. Michel Laliberté (pompier), M. André Robidoux (firefighter) et M. Sylvain Beauvais (firefighter).

A check of 750$ was first given to the group of volountary workers from the Small Breakfast Club of Saint-Hyacithe, with which firefighters were involved a week earlier and saw for themselves the importance of helping out such an organization. Miss Linda Jodoin and her team were there to receive the donation.

Another check of 750$ was given to the pediatric unit of Saint-Hyacinthe's Honoré-Mercier hospital. Were present to receive this donation: Mrs Lise Cartier pediatric unit coordinator, and pediatric doctors Christiane Charette, Julie Morin and Marie-Pascale Pépin.
