Major accident in St.Hyacinthe

A violent accident occured at the corner of Choquette blvd and Sicotte street when a car collided with a 4x4 pick-up truck. The impact made the truck flip multiple times, hit a pole and end up side down. The car finished its course in the driveway of a house, with occupants still pined inside.

The St.Hyacinthe Fire Department quickly and simultaneously removed fire hazards, neutralized power sources, extricated the victims and contained the fuel leaks. Victims were rushed to the St.Hyacinthe Hospital by St.Hyacinthe and Beloeil paramedics.

The Sûreté du Québec (provincial police) had to close the intersection for nearly 10 hours to make detailed analysis of the pavement, take site measurements, identify the path of each vehicle, and finally reconstruct the scene at the precise moment of impact. A special thanks to the Sûreté du Québec Maskoutain Sector officers and the investigators of the Sûreté du Québec Collision Investigation Module for their collaboration day long.
