Corn truck accident

A truck transporting corn was involved in a spectacular accident on Route 137 between St.Hyacinthe and St.Dominique. The driver apparently fell asleep, steering the truck toward the ditch, breaking up an electrical pole, ending its course on its side and spilling its contents on the ground. At the moment of impact, a piece of metal pierced a fuel tank and caused a major leak.

The intervention involved many services and agencies: St.Hyacinthe City Fire Department, St.Hyacinthe's extrication unit, St.Hyacinthe paramedics, Sûreté du Québec, Hydro-Quebec, Emergency-environment Quebec, Garage Bruno Bernard & sons, and RSR Environment.
